CPC Round 2

I played well today, but not well enough. On a tough course, I shot 2 under 69 for a two round total of 146, two shots off the cut line. I drove the ball well and putted well. I had too big of a score from the first round to make the cut. I had some chances to shoot 4 under, but just didn't get it done. Thanks to Tom Budreau, my caddie, for putting up with me for a few days on the course. The weather was great. A little bit of wind and really hot 90's. I hope to be back next year for National. Thanks for every one's support.

CPC Round 1

I hit the ball OK. I had four three putts with two of them from about ten feet, one for double and one for triple. I missed two birdie putts within 5 feet. All in all I putted poorly, but hit everything else pretty well for a 6 over 77. One bad drive was the triple. The front nine the wind blew 10 -20 mph and then it was pretty calm on holes 10-15 and then blew 10-15 on the last three holes in a different direction. We did avoid the rain which was nice. Looking forward to playing the Twin Warriors course tomorrow. Tee off time is 850am. Thanks for all the support. Wish I could of played better. We will try to do better tomorrow.

CPC Practice

I played the Santa Ana Golf Club today. The course played much different than Twin Warriors. The greens were a little faster, firmer, and more undulated from back to front. The tee shots were a little less demanding and more forgiving. The course played a little shorter than the Warrior Course, but the rough around the greens and fairways was still long and thick.
My first round is tomorrow at Santa Ana starting at 150pm. Looking forward to the first round and getting some rest tonight.

CPC Practice

Getting ready to play Santa Ana GC at 1pm. Yesterday, I was filmed for the golf channel for a "did you know" about Albuquerque. It should be aired at some point during the golf channels telecast. They said it would be a filler before going to a break. It took about 10 takes because I had to memorize the line which was about 20 words, and I kept messing up putting it in my own words, laughing, and not saying the right words. I have a new respect for reporters and such. Hopefully, that is the most pressure I feel this week. It was very funny for everyone there.

CPC Practice

We played a practice round at Twin Warriors today at 140. I thought the course was very tough. It was very long at 7500+ yards par 71. Of course, the altitude makes the course seem a little shorter about 10%, but it seemed like alot of mid to long irons into greens. The rough was up around the greens and just off the fairways with the desert close by to swallow up golf balls. It seems like it will be easy to make doubles and tough to make birdies. The greens seemed fairly big with more tiers than undulations. We had a storm pass through which delayed our round for about an hour, so we did not play all 18 holes. We walked the last two holes due to darkness. The course was very beautiful and cut right out the landscape. Tomorrow, we play Santa Ana Golf Club.

Made it to New Mexico in one piece.. A very long day - up early, busy day. Hit some golf balls at another range so Tom Budreau could hit some balls. We are staying at the Mariott Courtyard about 15 miles away. We are playing the Twin Warriors course at 130pm tomorrow with Chip Johnson, James Antonelli, and Jeff Martin. Looking forward to playing some golf.

Mass Open

I played better today 75. Still not scoring. I am a little rusty with getting the ball in the hole. No birdies in two rounds. I made one putt over 10 feet in two days. The weather was much better. Good luck to my brother Ben, who is in second place, two shots behind the leaders. www.mgalinks.org

Mass Open

Tough day at the Mass Open (http://www.mgalinks.org/), wind and rain for the whole round. The course was in great shape and held up through the rain. I shot 82 with five three putts. Looking forward to tomorrow, trying to get some competitive rounds under my belt before the National CPC.
